Edit Page Promos

Page promos are small windows that give a brief description or look of what the page is.

For example, below is an internal promo module of a page, meaning the page is being linked within the BYUH domain. As you can see it has an image, title, and description of what the page is about before you open it.

BrightSpot is the online content management system BYU–Hawaii uses to manage and edit websites. Tutorials, documentation, and training sessions are available for new users.

Below is an example of external use of a page preview where the BYUH page is being linked outside the BYUH domain into a third party such as emails. Similarly, it provides basic information such as the title, image, and a description of the page.

Override Tab

1. Go to the page you wish to edit the page preview.

2. Click "OVERRIDES" on the left side dashboard.

3. To edit internal promos, press "PROMO MODULE OVERRIDES (INTERNAL)".

This tab edits the page preview when the page is being linked within the BYUH website.
In which you can do the following:

  • Edit the "PROMO TITLE".
  • Edit a brief "PROMO DESCRIPTION" of the page preview.
  • Add a "PROMO IMAGE" related to the page.

4. To edit external promos, press "SHARING OVERRIDES (EXTERNAL)".

This tab edits the page preview when the page linked outside the BYUH website.
Similarly you can do the following:

  • Edit the "SHARE TITLE".
  • Edit a brief "SHARE DESCRIPTION" the page preview.
  • Add a "SHARE IMAGE" associated with the page.

5. Make the desired changes and press "PUBLISH" to update the page preview and promo.
