Facebook Best Practices

Understanding your Facebook audience here is key. On average, accounts see higher engagement from older profiles. Understanding who you're talking to will help you plan a strategy accordingly.

What to Post?

Use original content. Share what's happening in your department, events, service projects, student highlights, and alumni stories.

Share other content. Share what fits your voice and plan. Stay up to date with trends.

How Many Times to Post?

1-2 times per week.

What Content Performs Best?

Share a variety of content on your feed. Pictures, events, videos are a great start.

If you use someone else's picture, you need to ask them first and attribute them correctly.

Time Does Matter

Do your research, check out your Facebook Insights to see when your audience is most active. Post during those times, but beware of content overload. Be a blessing, not a burden on someone's feed.

Be Responsive

Don't just post and ignore any comments or tags. Respond quickly and accurately, regardless of the feedback, be it positive or negative.
