Procedures & Guidelines for the Employee Bulletin and Student Bulletin

Procedures & Guidelines for the Employee Bulletin and Student Bulletin

There are currently three e-mail bulletins sent out on a regular basis:

• eBulletin (Faculty & Staff; moderated by University Communications)
• sBulletin (Students; moderated by University Communications)
• Career Bulletin (Faculty, Staff & Students; moderated by Career Services)

Bulletin Procedures

• The eBulletin is distributed daily to all campus employees. Announcements must be received no later than 9:00 a.m. to be included in that day's bulletin. Announcements received after the deadline will be included in the next bulletin.
• The sBulletin sends student-centered information to all students. Announcements must be received no later than 9:00 a.m. to be included in that day's bulletin. Announcements received after the deadline will be included in the next bulletin.

• To submit an announcement:

For the employee bulletin, submit announcements to the University Communications eBulletin submission form.
For the student bulletin, submit announcements to the University Communications sBulletin submission form.

• Announcements must be 80 words or less, including attributions and contact information. If needed, a hyperlink can be included to redirect readers to a web page for more information.
• Please include a name and contact information with the announcement so people can reach you with questions if necessary.
• Please do not reply to the bulletin with questions related to specific announcements.
• University Communications reserves the right to refine the text. However if it's over 80 words, we may ask that you reduce the word count. Please ensure information is correct, such as dates, times, etc.
• Information will be distributed only one time per week. Please plan accordingly. University Communications reserves the right to determine whether or not a mistake needs to be corrected and repeated.
• University Communications reserves the right to reject submissions. Policies are subject to change to address unforeseen issues should they arise. We will notify you when changes will be made on this policy.
• The following announcements are not appropriate for any BYU–Hawaii bulletin:

o Personal commercial advertisements
o Lost and found
o Other personal business
o Rumors and hearsay
o Items or events covering doctrinally sensitive issues
o Individual out-of-office announcements

A link to this procedures page can also be found at the end of each bulletin. Please review these policies regularly.
